Biography

George Arthur Ingles Jr. was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 4, 1944 to George Arthur Ingles and Betty Alice (Penwell) Ingles. He has two brothers and three sisters. He graduated in 1962 from Belfast High School in Belfast Ohio. Twenty-one days later he entered the United States Army in Fort Knox KY. Serving in the Arterially as a Nike Hercules crewman and became a Maintenance Technician and received an Honorable Discharge in 1968 with the permeant rank of E-6 Staff Sargent. A life member of The American Legion.

On Christmas Day1961 he met Karen Irene Hart and they were married August 31, 1963. George and Karen have one daughter, Tiffany.

From 1968 to 1987 George was employed at North Pittsburgh Telephone Company in Gibsonia, PA, where he held numerous positions, ranging from Lineman to Manager of the PBX and Key Systems Business Division. From 1987 to 2002 he was employed at Northern Telecom as a District Sales Manager. While at Northern Telecom, the family moved from Butler, Pennsylvania to LaCrescent, Minnesota and then to Brownsburg, Indiana in 1994. Retiring in 2002 from the Communications industry after 34 years. In 2004 they moved to Muncie, Indiana where they current reside. Currently members of Hazelwood Christian Church where George is currently serving as a Deacon of the Church.

Masonic History

George was raised a Master Mason in 1976 in Butler Lodge No. 272 Butler, PA, serving as Master of his Lodge in 1984, and as Senior Instructor from 1984 to 1987. He served as president of the 27th Masonic District School of Instruction in 1983, and is dual member of Parker Lodge No. 630 serving as Master in 2008.

He was placed in the Grand Lodge line, by then Grand Master Duane L. Vaught serving in each appointed and elected Grand Line office serving as Grand Mast of Mason of Indiana from May 2012 to May 2013. He has served on the Indiana Masonic Home Board, Indianapolis Temple Association, Scholarship Board, and is currently President of the Masonic Heritage Foundation. He is the Representative from Indiana to Idaho, for the Grand Lodge. He is a life member of the Idaho Past Grand Master’ Association.

He was exalted a Royal Arch Mason in Butler Chapter No. 273 in Butler, PA, in 1979, serving as High Priest in 1982. Served as District Instructor from 1983 – 1987. He is a dual member of West Side Chapter No. 138, Indianapolis, IN. A Perpetual Life Member of the General Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons, International.

He was greeted a Select Master in Butler Council No. 61 Butler, PA, in 1979, serving as Thrice Illustrious Master in 1986. He received the Order of the Silver Trowel in 1986. He is dual member of Forrest A. Wakeman Council No. 110 in Mooresville, IN, and served as Illustrious Master in 2002 and in 2003.

He was Dubbed and Created a member of the Valiant and Magnanimous Order of Knights Templar in Lorraine Commandery No. 87 in Butler PA, in 1979, serving as Commander in 1985. He was appointed as Grand Marshal of the Grand Commandery of PA in 1987. He is a member of the Northwest Pennsylvania Past Commander and Line Officers Association and Sovereign Order of Knight Preceptor, Pennsylvania Chapter. He is a plural member of William G. Bray Commandery No. 65 in Mooresville, IN, serving as Commander in 1997, and was the Recorder from 1998 - 2008. George was also a member of Raper Commandery No. 1, Indianapolis, IN, serving as President of the Drill Corp in 2000, and as Commander in 2001. He served on Raper Drill team from 1997 to 2006. During that time the team received two 1st place trophies, a 2nd place and a 3rd place trophy at the Triennial National Competition. He is also a member of St. Anselm Commandery UD. serving as Commander in 2007 and currently Recorder. He is a member of the Indiana Past Commanders Association.

He was appointed as an Aide to Sir Knight James Prairie in 1997, Appointed as Grand Sword Bearer by Sir Knight Robert J. Frazer in 1998. He was elected Grand Junior Warden in 1999 and served as Grand Commander of Indiana, in 2003 – 2004. He is an honorary member of the Wisconsin, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio Grand Commanderies. In 2012 he was accorded the Honor of an Honorary Past Grand Commander of Pennsylvania. Representative from Indiana to Pennsylvania.

His Daughter, Tiffany, joined Job’s Daughters in La Cross, Wisconsin in 1992 and George has been active in Job’s Daughter from that time to present. He is a Member of Honor of Bethel No. 27 La Cross, WI. He served as Associate Bethel Guardian in Brownsburg, IN from 1995 to 1998. He served in the Grand Guardian Council line beginning in 2006 and served as Associate Grand Guarding in 2008 -2009. He served on the Board for Rainbow for Girls in Meridian, PA. Serving also on the Advisory Board for DeMolay in Butler, PA and is the recipient of the Honorary Legion of Honor of the International Order of DeMolay.

He is a member of the Order of Amaranth, Golden Link Court No. 7. A member of The White Shrine of Jerusalem, Indianapolis Shrine No. 6 both of Indianapolis. Also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star serving as Worthy Parton in Brownsburg No. 266, in 1997 and in 2007. He is currently a member of Fishers Chapter No. 446

He joined the Scottish Rite in 1977 in New Castle, Pennsylvania and served in a number of Convocations participating in different roles in numerous degrees. In 1996 he transferred his membership to Indianapolis, IN. He was created a Sovereign Grand Inspector General 33 degree and Honorary Member of the Supreme Council Northern Jurisdiction, in 2004. Member of the Schotish Rite Club of Delaware County.

A member of the Ancient Order of Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, Murat Shrine of Indianapolis, and member of Murpah Shrine Club in Muncie.

A member of Dwight L. Smith Lodge of Research, Southern California Research Lodge, and The Masonic Society.

He is a Knight York Cross of Honor recipient, Keystone Priory No, 26 Pittsburgh, PA and Robert A. Woods Priory No. 62 Shelbyville, IN. Having presided in two York Rite Grand Lines his jewel has two quadrants the Blue and White.

York Rite College, Golden Triangle No. 32 Pittsburgh, PA and Marvin L. Isley No. 89 Shelbyville, IN. Recipient of the Order of the Purple Cross in 2004.

Allied Masonic Degrees, St. Bernard de Clairvaux Council No. 256, serving as Sovereign Master in 2008 – 2009, serving as Secretary / Treasurer from 2011 to current. Fellow of the Grand College of Rites of the United States of America.

Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priest, Gennesaret Tabernacle No. XVII, serving as Preceptor in 2016.
